Setup Multiple Recipients With Dropdown Option in Contact Form 7

So you need a contact form on a website with multiple recipients. You may need it if you are running an online business and you may want to route the queries to the respective departments like sales, help desk, support, billing etc.

You can use contact form 7 plugin to setup the contact form with more then one receivers. The mail is sent depending upon the receiver chosen in the drop down option. Setting up multiple recipients is not a standard feature of contact form 7 plugin, but its easy to add it using a trick. Here’s the procedure:

• Create a contact form as usual. If you are new to contact form 7, first learn how to setup a basic contact form using contact form 7.

• Add a drop down box with all the departments using the select tag. It will look like this,

[select recipient "sales" "helpdesk" "billing" "support" "other"]

• Now manually edit the select tag to add the recipients email address with | as separator. It should look like this,

[select recipient "sales|sales@agentwp.com" "helpdesk|hd@agentwp.com" "billing|billing@agentwp.com" "support|support@agentwp.com" "other|contact@agentwp.com"]

• Now edit the To: field of the contact form and put [recipient] in it.

That’s it. You have a professional looking contact form ready. Please use the comments form below if you have any questions related to the tutorial.
