How To Disable Comments on a Specific Page or Post

Do you know that you can disable comments on an individual page or post in WordPress? To disable comments on a specific post or page, edit that post or page. Then scroll down to find a section labeled Discussion.

Now uncheck the option that says, Allow comments.

That’s it. Now comments will not appear on this specific post or page. To enable comments for this post or page again, just check the box again.

Note: By default, WordPress supports comments for both posts and pages. Most themes, however, don’t display comments on pages. So if your theme do not support commenting on pages, changing the above setting won’t make any difference.

    I don’t have the section labled Discussion on my posts. I am using WP WordPress 3.1.2 Any ideas?

    I figured it out. In 3.1.2 when you are editing a post or page, at the very top of the page is a tab labeled “Screen Options” you have to check the box for Discussion to show up.
